My Little Giraffes!

For Halloween the girls were little Giraffes, and I have to say that I think they were the cutest little giraffes ever!! We did not take them trick or treating because they are still way too young, but we did go to the Zoo with Grandma & Grandpa, and great Grandma and Grandpa. It was so much fun!! It was a little bit of a bummer because it was pretty hot so the girls were only in their costumes for a little while and then we stripped them down to their regular clothes so they wouldn't get too hot. This was the first time that we went to the Zoo where the girls were actually able to see most of the animals and they loved it!

Kaylyn is Taking Steps Too!!

Apparently Kaylyn couldn't stand the walking peer pressure presented by Kylee, and within the last couple of days she has really gotten more brave and has started to take steps on her own!! At this point the most steps I have seen her take is around 4-5, but it's still progress none the less. She is still a little unsure of herself, but everyday she gets a little more confident. I'm am going to have two little walkers in no time...

I think Kylee has had a bit of a stomach bug that last few days. First it started with Diarrhea, then a low grade fever, and last night brought the projectile vomiting!! Poor thing, I felt so bad for her she couldn't keep anything down. Lucky for her she managed to puke ALL over me and didn't get as much as a drop on herself. I could tell that after she did it, that she did feel better and she seems to be doing just fine today. So hopefully that was the end of it.

Both of the girls have mastered opening Cabinets and are getting pretty good about drawers as well. I moved all the dangerous chemicals up high and Keith put Tot Locks on everything else. There are a couple that we let them have access to that don't have anything in it...I feel like child Proofing is never ending around here! Right when I think I have everything locked up and safe, they manage to find something else to get into!

Stay Tuned for Pictures of the Girls in their Halloween Costumes!!

Happiness Is....

Being Kylee & Kaylyn's Mommy and loving every minute of it

Being a Wife to my wonderful Husband

Spending time with my family

Watching the girls learn and grow everyday

Listening to Kylee and Kalyn laugh hysterically

Hearing the Girls "talk" to each other over the baby monitor every morning

Cuddling with my Babies

Seeing Keith light up when he see's his girls, and vice versa

The occasional Girls night out

Having the best friends and family in the world

Enjoying the great outdoors

Warm Summer days

I could go on and on...It really is all about the little things in life... This last year has taught me not to take anything for granted, and appreciate all the blessings that life has to offer.

AAHH!!! Biting!?!?

First of all, I want to give myself a little pat on the back because I gave both of the girls a bath together all by myself tonight!! No bath seats or anything!! I was hesitant to do it before because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle both of them. Thankfully it went just fine, except for our little biting incident. Kaylyn is usually more of the "bully" twin. She steals her sisters toys, bottles you name it. Well tonight, Kylee figured out how to get even. Kaylyn was playing with something that Kylee wanted and she grabbed Kaylyn's arm and Bit her!! Kaylyn was hysterical and Kylee just sat there and laughed. I did my best to console Kaylyn and make it clear to Kylee that we don't bite. Hopefully it was just a one time thing, but I have a feeling that this won't be the last we see of biting in this household.

Kylee is getting more and more confident in the walking department. She will cruise in between things, taking between 8-10 steps. She no longer has to be persuaded to leave her comfort zone. Its the cutest thing. Kaylyn is much more comfortable crawling where ever she needs to go, and has no desire to let go and give it a try. I'm sure it will happen soon enough, and I am certainly not going to push the issue.

Kaylyn has learned to shake her head "Yes". Its kind of funny because Kylee only knows "No". Its so dramatic when Kaylyn does it, you can't help but laugh. I really need to get it on video!

We have been learning the different animal sounds. When you ask Kaylyn, "What does a Cow Say?", she proudly responds with "mOOOOOOOOO". When you ask her what a sheep says, she replies "BAAAA-baaaa-BAAAA". Both of the girls have become increasingly vocal over the past couple of weeks. They just love to talk, and talk, and talk....hmmm....I wonder where they got that from?

I got the girls pictures back from their photo shoot last week, and all of the pictures turned out phenomenally good! I have no idea how I am ever going to decide which ones to get printed.

The girls agent called today to see if they were available November 6th to do another episode of "24", and I agreed. I am excited for them to do another one. It was so much fun, and everyone was so nice. I am so happy that the girls are getting a head start on their college funds!

I hope everyone is doing well!

24

Last night around 6:30 I got a phone call from the girls agent, and she wanted to know if I could bring the girls to Pasadena today to be in the show "24". Before I could confirm, I had to call Keith's mom to see if she was available to come with me, because there was no way that I was going to do it alone. Luckily, she was able to come so I agreed.

It was an 8:45 call time, which meant that we had to leave really early in the morning. Unfortunately we were in bumper to bumper traffic the entire way there because we were traveling during LA rush hour. The girls were very good in the car and didn't even make a fuss.

We finally got there (a little late...) and they took us to the girls personal trailer AKA "Star Wagons"(click on the pic below and enlarge it)so that they could get into their wardrobe (pajamas) and then we went on location over to the set. It was a Huge, absolutely Gorgeous mansion in Pasadena. The scene the girls were in, they wanted them to be sleeping but it didn't work out that way. The girls were very cute, and the director was happy with their performance even though they weren't asleep. They did such a great job!

The cast and crew were all incredibly nice, and we all had a great time. It was so fun to be able to have a girls day out with Grandma!! The show should air sometime next Spring!!

Wild Animal Park and yet another Pumkin Patch

Today we went to the Wild Animal Park with the Pollard's, and we had such a great time. The girls had never been there before, and it had been years since any of the rest of us had gone, so it was nice to see and explore the new territory. I don't know how interested in the animals the girls were (they are pretty hard to see as most of them are pretty camouflaged), but they definitely loved being outside and checking out all the new scenery and watching the people. They were such good girls and neither one of them fussed once even though neither one of them took a decent nap all day.

We actually did the entire park by 3pm and we all decided to go to a near by pumpkin patch (the one I wanted to go to originally, but we didn't have time to squeeze it in that day). At this pumpkin patch there were HUGE pumpkins, and a really cool area with all different kinds of farm animals. Kylee was not a fan of the geese...they made loud noises and it totally freaked her out.

It was such a fun day, but I am exhausted now!

Yay for River Trips!!

Keith finally had a few days off in a row, and we decided to take advantage of it and go to the River! It was the maiden voyage for our new Toy Hauler that we got, and we were very excited! We really thought the worst part of our drive was going to be going up the grade, but thankfully that part of our trip was fine. Apparently, Keith was paying very close attention to the transmission temp (since this was the 1st time towing the trailer) and failed to notice that we had no more gas...oops! So about 15 miles away from the river, we were stuck on the side of the road (the pic to the right is us broken down). On an upside, if you have to be stuck on the side of the road with two 1 year olds, doing it with a toy box is definitely preferred! Thankfully we have AAA and they came to our rescue!

The rest of the trip was perfect. It was so nice to be able to get away for a couple of days. Keith's parents were able to come out a couple of the days as well, and that was awesome! The girls Loved taking rides in their new wagon, collecting rocks, and playing in the dirt. Kylee was Keith's little side kick while he was fishing, and she was fascinated with the fish that he caught!

12 Month Stats & our Adventure at the Pumkin Patch!!

Today the girls had their 12 month pediatrician appointment, and I have nothing but great news to report (other than the fact that they each had to get 5 shots of course!). Kylee is 20lbs 8oz and Kaylyn is 21lbs 10oz!! They are both 30" tall. They are in the 75th percentile (pretty much all around) for an actual 12 month old! Developmentally, Dr. McCormick could not have been more pleased. She said that at a minimum they are caught up to their actual age and maybe even a tad bit ahead. I cannot even begin to tell you what a relief it is to hear this news. Even though we have heard it before, its nice to know that they are still improving and growing! I am such a proud Mommy.

After the Dr's office we went to the Pumpkin Patch! Originally we were going to go to this really cool one in Valley Center called Bates Nut Farm, that is an actual pumpkin patch and it has a petting zoo, but we spent more time at the Dr's than anticipated so we ended up just going to the local one by our house. The girls had a great time looking at all the pumpkins and playing with the hay. We got them each their own little pumpkin, and they were ever so happy! We are planning on taking the girls to the other one before Halloween. I used to go that one as a kid, and I would love to continue that tradition.

I hope everyone is doing well!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY KYLEE AND KAYLYN!!!

I year ago today my sweet little baby girls entered this world under such unfavorable circumstances, and to see them now you would hardly ever believe it. I was just telling Keith, "How in the world did this year go by so fast when so many of the days felt like they were never going to end?!?!"

Yesterday was their 1st Birthday party!! It was so great to see so many of our friends and family that we don't get to see that often come together to celebrate such a great day! There were a TON of people there! I was a little scared because come Saturday it was gloomy, cold and raining, but thankfully Sunday brought beautiful sunny weather! The girls got so many gifts, mostly clothes and a few toys. Grandma bought them a Winnie the Pooh car, and Kaylyn loves to ride as Kylee pushes her along from the back. It's adorable!! They thoroughly enjoyed their birthday cakes and making a mess of astronomical proportions. It was definitely a memorable day.

Since the girls were born they have grown more than a thousand percent compared to their original birth weight. Right now they are technically only 9 months adjusted, but you would never even guess that they were premature, let alone 12 weeks early!
  • Kylee is taking between 6-8 steps at a time now!! Kaylyn is very apprehensive about the whole walking thing unless she is holding onto something.
  • They both have their 2 bottom teeth coming in, and I think there might even be some coming in up top.
  • They both love to wave, clap, and dance.
  • If you ask them how old they are they proudly hold up One Finger!
  • I think Kylee's favorite word is NO, as she loves to shake her head back and forth to everything!!
  • They are both babbling up a storm, and I think they are finally starting to put the words with their meanings. They both say "Ba" (Ball), "Dadda", and "Momma"
  • They are both consistently sleeping through the night now. Which is a HUGE blessing in and of itself.
Yesterday, Keiths mom and I were in the Kitchen doing something and the girls were playing on the floor, and Kaylyn said "Wha da he dat?" and it totally sounded like she said "What the hell is that". I'm sure that's not what she was saying but it was really funny!

Today we went to lunch with Keith's parents, the girls Great Grandma and Great Aunt. Kaylyn got a hold of the Soy sauce and picked it up and tried to drink it! They are both incredibly quick, with the biggest challenge in dealing with 2 babies is trying to stay one step ahead of them.

The girls have their 12 month appointment on Thursday and I can't wait to see how much they weigh! I am not so excited about the 12 month shots, but it comes with the territory.

They have come so incredibly far and we are so very proud of them. They truly are our little Miracles!
