I Know you are Dying to Know....

The sex of the babies! Well so am I!!!! Actually today we had a Dr. appointment, and only one of the babies was cooperating and willing to show off the "Private Parts"... I guess my "Motherly Intuition" was off, and it looks like we are going to have at least one Girl! Chances are, we are probably going to have 2 of whatever Sex it turns out to be, because my Dr. thinks they are identical. This early though, a diagnosis of having a Girl is not as concrete as it would be if it were a boy, but my Dr. seemed pretty certain. We have a level 2 ultrasound scheduled in 3 weeks, and hopefully that will give us a more definite answer. So don't go out and buy all kinds of pink stuff just yet!

The babies look great though. The bigger they get, the less room they have to share. They are just under a pound already. My belly is measuring at 26 weeks (I am as big as someone with one baby is at 26 weeks), and I am only 17 weeks and 5 days.

We close escrow on our house on Tuesday of next week. We have spent this week packing everything up, and buying the "necessities"...such as a new LCD flat screen TV, leather couches, and a refrigerator. I cannot wait until we have our own house. It is going to be fabulous!

For those of you that would like to know the coolest thing about being preggo with twins, it has to be that my Dr. wrote me a note so that I can wear Flip Flops to work! How rad is that!! My current goal is to continue to work until 28 weeks, but my Dr. wants to play it by ear and see how things progress.

I guess that is all for now. I will let you know when we find out anything else!

4 Months Down

Today we are officially 16 weeks along! We went to the Dr. today for our regular bi-weekly appointment, and everything looks great! I am measuring at 21 weeks, which means I am as big now as I would be if I was carrying one baby at 21 weeks. People are really starting to notice I'm pregnant. Its a lot better than everyone just thinking Im a porker.

The babies are about a 1/2 lb each, and they are getting really big. It is so cool to watch them interact with each other. I think we are going to have our hands full! They are VERY active...punching, pushing, and shoving each other. I am hoping its because I had a few starburst today before my appointment, and the sugar got them hoppin!

Still no definitive answer on the genders... I am getting SO impatient, I just want to know already! Hopefully by the next appointment in 2 weeks it will their genitalia will be more evident.

Thats all for now, we still have a long way to go....

I Swear I saw a Penis!!

We had our latest Dr. appointment yesterday (at 14w3d), and Baby B had is butt displayed in the air, and between his little legs was a little "something". My dr. would not confirm or deny that it is a boy just yet, mostly because we are so early. But not one person in the room (Keith, Jayson, and Morgan) deny that there was "Something" there, I am just the one convinced its a Penis! I could be wrong though. I guess time will tell.

The babies are up to 4" now, and things are getting tight in my tummy for them. They are measuring almost exactly the same size, so that is really good. It is getting harder to see the entire baby at once on the ultrasound machine because they are too big. They look great though. Yesterday, their bone structure was really visible for the first time. We saw their spine, and skull and all the other bones. It is really cool.

By our next appointment my Dr. wants us to decide if we are going to have the testing done to see if they could possibly have any birth defects. I think we have decided not to do it for several reasons. The first being, those tests often display false positive results for multiple pregnancies. Which in turn would create a lot of unnecessary worry for the remainder of the pregnancy. Secondly, we are so far along, that even if something is wrong with them, we would not terminate at this point. We also have no reason to believe that anything is going to be wrong, neither one of us have anyone in our families with birth defects.

We are, however, going to do the Level II ultrasound at around week 20. This ultrasound is a lot more detailed and can check to assure all the major organs are present and functioning etc... That should be really interesting, I am pretty excited for that!

So far, so good!! People are starting to notice that Im pregnant finally (and not just fat!). Someone in the elevator at the Dr. office yesterday asked me if this was my first one?, and I told her it was my first TWO!

We just bought a new camera, so I PROMISE I will post some pictures of my belly soon... We are leaving for the river this evening, and will not return until Sunday so it will probably be sometime after that. It is supposed to be 121 at the river tomorrow, so I am going to have to stay in the shade and drink a shit ton of water so I dont get dehydrated (dehydration can be extremely dangerous when you are preggo). Good thing my hubby is a paramedic, and I will be in good hands.

OK, I think this is long enough. The next Dr. appointment is next Friday, the 13th. I will keep you updated...
