Bedrest

So yesterday was a rough day. I woke up in the morning and had terrible cramping/pressure, and I was a little concerned. I drank some water and laid down for a little while hoping it would go away, and it did not so I called my Dr. She wanted me to come in right away, so I did.

I went down there and she does the ultrasound of the girls, and they look great. One of them is head down, and the other one is transverse. Then she measured my belly, and this week we are measuring at 35 weeks!! They are getting really big! Anyways, she measures my cervix and it is 37mm. She says we worry when it gets to 35mm, but its dangerous if it gets to anything less than 25mm. So we are kind of borderline worrying at this point. Her concern is that I am still so early on that we don't want to take any chances.

Her first response was that I was to be out of work immediately, but I talked her down to shortening my days instead- At least for the next couple of weeks until I can get my replacement trained, and get the bid done. So we agreed on 6 hours days for now, but she said that if my cervix shortens any more when I come in for my appointment next week I am out of work, no questions asked. In the meantime, she said that if I am not at work, I am to be in bed on my left side. So it looks like I am doomed to bedrest until these babies come.

Today is the first day of bedrest for me, and I am already going crazy!! I am sooo bored, and I feel like there is so much that I should be doing. But I know that right now I have follow Dr's orders to ensure that my babies are healthy. Well, that is all for now. I will let you know if anything changes.

I'm Ready to be done being pregnant!

Too bad I'm barely half way there!! I feel HUGE, and I know I am just destined to get even bigger. We had a Dr. appointment today and I am measuring at 30 weeks! I can only imagine how big I am going to get.

My ankles disappeared this week , I now officially have Cankles....its really sad. Sleeping is pretty much non-existent because by the time I finally get comfortable and I'm just about to fall asleep, I have to get up and Pee. This cycle is repeated all through the night until the sun is coming up... Not to mention my back is constantly killing me!

Last week we went to Lowes to buy paint for our Fence and the lady Checking us out assumed we were buying paint to paint the nursery, and she says "You better get home and paint that nursery today, those babies are going to be here any minute!"...then I tell her the girls aren't coming until December. She gave me a look like I was crazy and didn't know what I was talking about. Apparently I look as though I should be about to pop.

Sorry for all the gripes today...on a better note- The Girls look great!! They are still beating each other up, and moving all over the place. Dr. says they weigh about 1 1/2 pounds now, and growing more and more each day. Starting at the 24 week mark (in 2 weeks) I will have to go to the Dr. every week.

I am still hoping I am going to be able to work until 28 weeks. I am not so convinced I am going to make it that far after the last couple of days, but we will take it one day at a time and see how it goes. Thankfully, I am training my replacement starting this week!

I guess that's all for now, I will let you know if anything else exciting comes up.

Level 2 Ultrasound

Today we went for our Level 2 Ultrasound. It is more detailed than just a normal ultrasound, and they measure the babies bones, check their organs and make sure they are growing as they should.

Well the Girls look great! They are actually measuring slightly bigger than where they should be at 20 weeks 4 days, which is amazing for twins. All of their organs (brain, heart, kidneys, stomach etc...) all looked perfect.

They were Super active this morning, bouncing all over the place and changing positions. We got to see them suck their thumbs, open and close their hands (which is really good because they actually have to Think to do this) and Baby A was actually grabbing her Toes.

The whole appointment was awesome, and it was reassuring to know that they are growing and progressing as they should. Now we hurry up and wait until we get to meet our little Twincesses!!

Twin Girls!!

So, apparently that wasn't a penis I saw a couple of weeks ago, because as it turns out we are going to be having twin GIRLS! I'm a little scared, but of course I am really excited!!

Yesterday I went and had a 4D ultrasound done while Keith was at work (I didn't tell him I was going) and I got the confirmation that they were in fact 2 girls. Then I went to Party City and got all kinds of Girl stuff, and decorated the house so when he came home from work this morning I could surprise him with the sex of the babies. I thought that would be much more fun that getting a phone call at work, and I was right! They also taped the entire appointment and put it on a DVD, so I had that playing this morning when he got home. He LOVED it, and he couldn't be happier!

My house is going to be very PINK in the coming months, Keith may need a few Guy trips to escape the estrogen madness. But I think its wonderful!

We have an actual Dr. appointment with my OB tomorrow, so I will update soon with changes!
