They're Both Sitting!!

This weekend both of the girls learned how to sit by themselves. Kaylyn has it down, and now prefers to sit and play with all of her toys. Kylee is still a little more wobbly, and if she gets distracted she tends to topple over but she can sit nonetheless!! I feel like I took 1,000 pictures this weekend of their new milestone. I am so proud of them!

I really hope I am not jinxing myself here, but it seems as though we are back on the Sleeping through the night train! Both of the girls have slept through the night for the last 5 nights. Its so wonderful!

Thankfully, there have been no further poop incidents! I no longer allow either one of them in their crib with just a diaper on. I can laugh about it now, but it wasn't so funny when it happened!

Poop Fiasco!

This morning Kylee learned a new trick- Taking off her diaper. It was cute at first, and I just put it back on and didn't really think much of it. Then I went to get her up from her nap and not only had she removed her diaper, she had pooped all over the place!! It was so incredibly gross! She was having a great time, laughing and rolling all over in it! I gave her a bath right away and it was under her fingernails and even in her ears. Yuck!! That baby will never go to bed in just a diaper again!

Working on Sitting!

Kaylyn can pretty much sit unassisted now! She will still wobble from time to time, and even fall backwards here and there, but for the most part she is a pretty good sitter! Kylee is also doing a good job sitting as well, but she still needs a bit of support.

We have been working with both of the girls on "walking", with us assisting them by holding their hands. When we first started their feet were pretty much "glued" to the ground but now they will both take steps forward!

We let the girls start trying biter biscuits. Although its rather messy, they both LOVE them! The main challenge is keeping Bandit (the dog) from stealing them from them.

I can't believe how fast my little girls are growing up! It seems like everyday they are doing something new. I am so proud of my little preemies!

Our Trip to the Fair

Today we took the girls to the Del Mar Fair. We had quite the entourage, Grandma, Grandpa, great-grandma, Uncle Ryan, Leah and Noah all went with us. It was a lot of fun, but it was a mad house! There were so many people, and I hate big crowds but the girls were so incredibly good. It doesn't help that when you have twins you are stopped constantly and asked a ton of "twin" questions.

I did encounter my first Rude twin comment today! A lady walked up to me and said: "Twins? How terrible! I am so sorry", and I said "Actually I love being a twin mommy, I am glad that I have 2! They are a blessing", and she said "I own a pair of my own, just wait until they turn 2", and I said "I didn't know you could OWN kids like you own a PAIR of shoes"...and she walked away. In my opinion, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all.

Yesterday we spent the day at G & G's house and the girls enjoyed having a little "Nakey" time on the lawn (on a blanket of course). They must have laid out there for over 2 hours, just playing and laughing. It was so much fun!

We are starting the countdown for Hawaii! We leave 1 week from Tomorrow!! Keith's parents are going to have fun keeping them for the 6 days that we are going to be gone. I am going to miss them terribly, but Keith and I are ready for a well deserved vacation. The girls just better not do anything too new and exciting while we're gone or I am going to be heartbroken!

I am the Worst Mommy Ever!!

Kaylyn woke up at the crack of dawn this morning and needless to say I wasn't exactly ready to start the day. So I brought Kaylyn into bed with me (Keith had already left for work for the day) and gave her a bottle. Apparently, I accidentally fell back asleep and the next thing I knew, I heard a loud Thump! She had rolled off the bed!! I immediately called Keith, and he thought it was pretty funny and reassured me that she was fine. I really think it traumatized me more than it did her. She didn't even hardly cry, but I still feel terrible.

Kylee is so close to getting up on all 4's! She can get her legs under her, and push up with her hands but she hasn't quite mastered lifting up her head. They both want to crawl so bad, but they are not strong or coordinated enough just yet.

For the last couple of nights Sleeping through the night has gone out the window! Don't get me wrong, its not nearly as bad as it used to be (waking up every 2 hours at least!), but it was so nice for the few days that it lasted. They have been waking up between 4-5am, sometimes they will go back to sleep and sometimes they won't. I'm ready to get back on the 12hr sleep routine!

I hope everyone is having a great Father's day weekend! We don't have any big plans for Keith's first father's day. I think we are going to avoid the crowds and spend time at home as a family.

Giggles

Its the cutest thing ever that the girls have started giggling and laughing. They get so excited! I just love it!

I was going to try and get a cute picture of the girls this morning so I can make Keith some kind of Father's day present (still not sure what that present is going to be yet...). Anyways, I found that its nearly impossible to get two rolling babies to sit still and pose for a picture. After trying for about 20 minutes, I finally gave up and just let them roll around. I was kind of bummed, but I am going to try again when I have someone else here to help me hold them in place.

Its pretty warm here today. I think once the girls wake up from their nap we may get out their little pool and let them do a little swimming.

We Survived Our Crazy Busy Weekend!!

This weekend was so busy, yet the girls were little troopers and did such a good job rolling with the punches and adapting to new people and new settings!! Keith's cousin got married this weekend, so for 2 days leading up to the wedding there were lots of things to do and events to attend, then the wedding was on Saturday. On Sunday, Keith's other cousin had a graduation party that we attended. I am exhausted, but it was a lot of fun. We finally made our way home this morning.

Kaylyn is now able to hold her bottle and feed herself consistently! Kylee is still working on it and is very close. Its so nice to be able to hand Kaylyn her bottle and let her do it herself.

I am thinking its not going to be too long until we have teeth! The girls have been chewing on everything they can possibly get their hands on, and they are drooling like crazy.

Sooner rather than later we are going to have little crawlers on our hands. The girls are trying so hard to get where they want to go, but they don't have the coordination or strength just yet. Then things will really get crazy!!

Up until last night the girls have been doing an excellent job sleeping through the night. For some weird reason, they both managed to roll into a weird position and got stuck against the crib, which caused them to wake up. I am hoping that they sleep through the night tonight because I am so tired!

8 Months Old

I know I keep saying this, but I seriously cannot believe how fast the time is flying by. My little angels are 8 months old already!! They are both doing incredibly well, and we couldn't ask for better babies. Keith and I are in awe of how amazing they are.

Kylee is now a rolling pro!! She has mastered rolling from her back to her tummy, and now prefers to sleep on her tummy like her sister. Its not going to be long and we are going to be chasing two babies all over the place!!

We have been down at grandma and grandpa's house for the last couple of days for all of Keith's cousins wedding festivities. I was really worried that coming down here was going to impact the girls sleep through the night. Thankfully, I am happy to report they are still sleeping through the night and its wonderful!

The girls spent most of the day yesterday in the pool. They love the water! Keith even dunked them under a couple times. We also set up an umbrella on the side of the pool for shade, and put their jumperoo in the water so they could splash their feet and jump away. They had a blast.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

You're Never Going to Believe This!!

BOTH of the girls Slept Through the Entire Night 2 nights in a Row!! They both slept from 7pm-7am. I can't even begin to tell you how refreshing it is to have a full night of sleep! I am so proud of them!!

Kaylyn has really become quite the little inch-worm. She scoots all over the place and manages to get wherever she wants by inching along. She now has the toy stealing advantage.

Kylee has learned how to squeal for fun, and she gets such a kick out of herself. She just sits there and belts out one squeal after another. Im probably going to go deaf, but Im happy knowing that she is enjoying herself.

Yesterday we went up to Orange County to visit Kristin, Sara and Siena. They are absolutely adorable. I could not get over how tiny they looked to me and they are over 7lbs. I just can't wrap my brain around the fact that my girls were less than half that size at one point. I'm totally bummed that we didn't get a picture of all the girls together, so we will definitely have to make a point of it next time.

We Have a Busy Week Coming Up

I thought I would update now, because I really don't know when I am going to be able to update in the next week. Tomorrow, the girls and I are going up to Orange County to visit my friend Kristin and her 1 month old twin girls. I am so excited because this is the first time we are going to meet them!! Then this weekend Keith's cousin is getting married and we are going down to San Diego for several days for all of the wedding events (bachelor/bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and wedding). Its going to be interesting because the girls are going to have a sitter 3 nights in a row.

The girls are doing great. There really aren't any new milestones or adventures to report. They are both have been doing incredibly well sleeping at night. Kaylyn will typically sleep from 6:30(ish)-5:30-6:00am, and Kylee will sleep from 6:30(ish)-4:am, go right back to sleep until 7:00am. Now that Keith and I are finally able to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time, we have been taking full advantage of it and take the girls out almost every day on some sort of adventure. The girls have also started napping really well, and for the most part are on the same schedule! We are finally emerging from the fog of having newborn twins, and its wonderful!!

I hope everyone has a great week, and I will update when I get the chance!
